The reason I ask is because if you are just air testing the system for the heck of it after a repair, it is common to get a false leak there due to the fact that the upper injector oil seals won't seal properly until oil is applied under pressure.

Long story short, I need to replace the fuel injector seals. I looked up the part from Subaru and there is a 16608KA000 part number for the lower seal that appears to be cracked. This is the replacement part. However, the seal on my injector has several steps and a top lip on it. The fuel injector itself has markings Denso 5D1.4 0090 524 06.

2. Fuel leak. Another symptom of a problematic fuel injector o ring, which often comes soon after the smell, is a fuel leak. If any of the o rings tear or wear out they will leak fuel at the base, or top of the injector. Usually a fuel leak will produce a very strong odor which may signal an issue.

Suddenly my oil warning light came on, and the oil pressure dropped to about 10#. I couldn't find any leaks, and the mechanic at the TA couldn't find anything, but I was down 6 gallons within a 10-gallon system! It turned out that my loss of oil was from the injector seals letting go, and the oil was sucked into my diesel fuel tanks.

The injector copper sealing washers are what's causing your injector oil seals to leak. Replace them and the injector oil seals and you should be good to go. Make sure the copper sealing washer seats in the head are clean and flat prior to fitting new ones or you'll probably be doing it again soon.

i just had the injector seals replaced on my 2015 TDI with only about 105,000 km. It made a huge difference for about 4 weeks. My lag and hesitation when i hit the throttle disappeared. However, 4 weeks after the deanship fixed this issue for me I have leaking oil from the fuel injector seal area and my lag and hesitation in the throttle is back.

I determined I had a high pressure oil leak. I air tested the HPO system and determined it was leaking under the valve covers. I tore it down and found an air leak on top of an injector. All the injectors were rebuilt so I assumed it might be the oil rail nipple seal so I changed them all.

Jan 18, 2014. #1. On my 2004 vw tdi jetta tdi bew engine. There is a small leak of oil coming out from where the injector harness attaches to the side of the engine. I know the gasket or seal around the plastic part has worn down i tried wrapping some high temp silicone tape around that part but oil still leaks out any suggestions on what to do.

I still have about 3/4s of an inch overfill of oil on my truck, ive checked the injector o-rings and don't think my block is cracked. that really just leaves the front seal of the VP leaking. Anyone have a way to check if thats the case? I dont wanna buy one if i dont need it. Im considering sending a oil sample out to verify its fuel in my oil.

After I'm done with finals, my plan is to change the oil, pull the oil fill tube and start the truck while looking at the front gear to see if there is an obvious leak from the cp3 seal. If that proves uneventful, I'll do the same with the valve covers off and look for injector leaks.

Diesel injector seals. I've finally traced my oil leak. It seems to be coming from the top of the engine - the base of injector no. 3 has a small pool of oil around it. It gathers there, then runs down the front of the engine. It's not a massive leak, haven't needed to top it up, yet - but after a while I'll get a drip underneath, when I park it.

A leaking injector pump is a common problem with vehicles over 150,000 miles. The injector pump itself has a good reputation, and if you are experiencing leaking from around the injector pump it is most likely caused by broken O-rings. They create a seal between the injector lines and the head to prevent oil leaking from the head. The ones I replaced were leaking oil. The new ones were inserted after the head was cleaned and polished the create the best seal. However a week after the seals were replaced, oil has come gushing out of the seals.
